The best gay campgrounds, vote by you!
Popular Vote Categories
Who better to crown the Best Gay Campgrounds than you? The popular vote categories were your chance to let your voice be heard. Over the 30 days that the poll was up we received a massive 5,476 individual votes across 57 different campgrounds.
Some campgrounds participated more than others, some not at all, and in the end these results are purely based on the reach and participation level of the campgrounds and the passion of each campground’s member base.
We recognize that this leaves out some of the smaller or newer campgrounds, but there was a great sense of competition and a “coming together” that came out of this that was inspiring – even for those that did not make the list. And for the smaller campgrounds that made the top 10 – well that speaks volumes.
Congratulations to the winners of the 2021 GCF Awards Best Gay Campground and Top 10 Best Gay Campgrounds Categories!

Process
This year, we interviewed 20 people who had been to 7 or more gay campgrounds and were not financially affiliated with any of them. While we tried to get as much “coverage” as possible, we did not have data from all 63 known gay campgrounds. In cases where a selection could not be made based solely on experience – or to confirm selections based on experience, publicly accessible photos, reviews, publications, and other sources were reviewed for additional data. Certain planned categories were not awarded this year.
As this was our first pilot of this program, there are a lot of growing pains and lessons learned. We will review and revise our processes for next year in an effort to continuously iterate on the accuracy and validity of our award selections.
Congratulations to this year’s 2021 GCF Awards recipients!
